Buck (Republican Party) ran for re-election to the U.S. House to represent Colorado's 4th Congressional District. He did not appear on the ballot for the Republican primary on June 25, 2024.

On March 12, 2024, Buck announced that he would resign from the U.S. House. In the 115th Congress (2017-2018), Buck sponsored three bills that passed the House and went on to the Senate: the Water and Agriculture Tax Reform Act of 2018, the Innocent Party Protection Act, and the Political Appointee Burrowing Prevention Act.

In the 116th Congress, Buck served on the House Judiciary Committee and the House Committee on Rules. Buck was an at-large delegate to the 2016 Republican National Convention from Colorado.

Buck was one of 30 delegates from Colorado bound by state party rules to support Ted Cruz at the convention. Cruz suspended his campaign on May 3, 2016. At the time, he had approximately 546 bound delegates.
