Michael Cloud (Republican Party) is a member of the U.S. House, representing Texas' 27th Congressional District. He assumed office on July 10, 2018. His current term ends on January 3, 2025.
Cloud (Republican Party) is running for re-election to the U.S. House to represent Texas' 27th Congressional District. He declared candidacy for the Republican primary scheduled on March 5, 2024.
Cloud was first elected to the office in a special election on June 30, 2018. He won election to a full term in the regular election on November 6, 2018.
The special election was called after the resignation of Blake Farenthold (R). Gov. Greg Abbott (R) called an emergency special election after Farenthold resigned. He said that the emergency election was necessary so that the district, which was impacted by Hurricane Harvey in August 2017, would have representation for the remainder of 2018.

Cloud has served on the Texas State Executive Republican Committee and as chairman of the Victoria County Republican Party. His professional experience includes owning Bright Ideas Media and serving as the media and communications director at Faith Family Church in Victoria, Texas. He attended Oral Roberts University.
