Shomari Figures (Democratic Party) is a member of the U.S. House, representing Alabama's 2nd Congressional District. He assumed office on January 3, 2025. His current term ends on January 3, 2027. His career experience includes clerking for a judge on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, working on President Barack Obama's (D) re-election campaign, in the White House and the U.S. Department of Justice during Obama's second term, then in the office of U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio). Figures returned to the Department of Justice under President Joe Biden (D), serving as deputy chief of staff and counselor to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland.
