Troy Downing, Representative from Montana's 2nd District

Troy Downing (Republican Party) is a member of the U.S. House, representing Montana's 2nd Congressional District. He assumed office on January 3, 2025. His current term ends on January 3, 2027. Downing (Republican Party) ran for election to the U.S. House to represent Montana's 2nd Congressional District. He won in the general election on November 5, 2024. Troy Downing was raised in Indio, California. He studied computer science at New York University. He later co-founded WebCal, an internet-based calendar system incorporated into Yahoo in 1998. He was also the CEO of AC Self Storage Solutions, operated a commercial real estate development firm, and created a commercial insurance company. Downing moved to Montana following the sale of WebCal. Following the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, Downing enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard. He served two service tours in Afghanistan and spent eight years with the 129th Rescue Squadron, participating in combat and medical rescue missions. He became a member of the Montana Veterans of Foreign Wars, a trustee at the VFW post in Belgrade, Montana, and a volunteer with the Montana-based Warriors and Quiet Waters Foundation.
