MarketBeat is pleased to announce a new feature to help you keep an eye on the pulse of your portfolio as compared to standard market indexes. We call it Portfolio Performance, and with just a single click, you can see exactly how your investments are stacking up.
It is difficult to always know how your overall portfolio has performed over time against known metrics such as the Dow Jones Industrial Average, NASDAQ, and S&P 500. Now, with just a click, you can see how your overall investing strategy has been performing over the last year, three-years, five-years, and even ten years.
Graphs start with both portfolios at zero, meaning equal, and then shows you exactly how each index has changed over time, all the way up to today. Depending on your investments, the percent change scale will auto adjust as needed.
You can find Portfolio Performance listed under My Statistics on your My MarketBeat Dashboard.
Below are two graphs that show how bitcoin has performed against DJIA over the last year and the previous three years.
You'll notice how the scale is entirely different on the two graphs, and the short-term strategy has done significanly worse than the longer-term strategy, but that shouldn't surprise anyone familiar with Bitcoin.
We hope you enjoy using this new feature.
How does your portfolio shape up against the indexes? Tweet us a screenshot of your performances; we'd love to see them.
