Digital sales rose 110% YoY accounting for 62% of sales. The contribution margin rose 290 basis points to 13.6%. The Company expects to open 10 to 15 new restaurants in 2021 and capex between $20 million to $24 million. Noodles & Co. CEO Dave Boennighausen stated, “Our culinary innovations continue to resonate with consumers and redefine the brand for consumers, which was reinforced by the first quarter rollout of our low carb, gluten-free Cauliflower Gnocchi and will be bolstered later in the second quarter through our national launch of Tortelloni.
